COVID-19 Creates Delays in Background Check Service

COVID-19 continues to have an effect on many aspects of our daily life. Criminal background checks are not different. As a result of COVID-19, many courthouses have closed down delaying the ability to receive results. Currently the following courthouses are closed:

CA: San Francisco closed 3/17/2020 until April. Orders cannot be completed at

this time. San Mateo, Marin, San Bernardino, San Joaquin are closed until

April. Los Angeles is closed 3/17/2020 to 3/19/2020.

KY: Bath, Bourbon, Morgan, Taylor, Woodford courts are closed to the

public. Duration is currently unknown. Orders cannot be completed at this time.

MI: Hillsdale, Losco, Luce courts are closed 3/17/2020 until April. Orders

cannot be completed at this time.

NY: Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Franklin courts are closed for a

minimum of two weeks. Orders cannot be completed at this time. The OCA is

also short staffed which may result in delays on Statewide orders.

GA: Bibb, Columbia, Liberty, Madison, Muscogee, Richmond, Crawford,

Jefferson, Taylor, Giles courts are closed until April. Orders cannot be

completed at this time. Long, Bryan, Polk are placing limits on the number of researchers permitted in the courthouse at a time. Please expect delays in these counties.

LA: Caddo courts closed 3/17/2020 to 4/10/2020.

TN: Grundy courts are closed until April. Orders cannot be completed at this

time.

IL: Cook is beginning to close some court locations. Results may be delayed due

to the closures.

TX: Brewster is limiting the number of researchers allowed at a time. This may delay

results.
